| The Holga | INSTRUCTOR: Randi Laak | DATE: August 28 – September 1 | ||||||
| The Holga is a unique plastic camera used by a generation of imagemakers to create distinctly interpretive photographs. Quirky and loaded with idiosyncrasies, this camera appeals to photographers looking to expand their artistic vision. With only one shutter speed and two f-stops, the Holga invites the unexpected. Above all, it is a camera for photographers whose view of their world is offbeat and whimsical.
Participants will explore the inherent characteristics of the Holga camera (soft focus, erratic light leaks, limited exposure control) and learn how to use these "flaws" in the most creative way. On the final day, participants are invited into the B&W darkroom for a printing demonstration and produce a small portfolio of new images. |
